This open back design is intended for a dive boot, but surprisingly is almost soft enough to use without a boot.I found that the entire fin is rather soft and doesn't have much kick to it for diving.
It's also not very long so it's not very fast overall.
It's ok for snorkeling (due to soft blades) and maybe that is the intent but then why is it setup to accomodate a dive boot? If you are heading into an ocean current or need to keep up with a fast group then you'd need to find a stronger and faster fin.
