Before you buy any poker chips, you really have to know what you want.I decided on clay composite because it most closely resembles casino chips and doesn't wear.These chips are nice, and will definitely last forever without dents or wearing, but they sound kinda funny to me.They sound like metal, even though they aren't.The clay composite is just hard enough to give it the clinking sound.Otherwise, it's HUGE.Much larger than you'd think.And very heavy.The shipping is as much as the set.

Bluff King Casino Suited Poker Chip Set (1000 Clay Composite 11.5 gram Chips) Review

These chips are good for the price ($54 + Shipping) I paid. I don't think anyone will notice the flaws in the chips except for myself because I look at them in detail. You can see small indentations on the edge of each chip (must be from where some machine grabbed them during the creation process). I have one or two chips in the set that must not have gotten enough material added to them because they are falling apart. I will have to take these out of the set because they do not look right. Other than that, I think I will be happy with the set. Remember... these chips have the metal insert in them which is why they are cheaper than other solid chips. For your home game, these will work great! They have a nice sound, too.

The weight and feel of the chips are fine and they come in a nice sturdy case.The only problem I have is that some of the chips have a very small pertrusion out of the middle, probably from the mold, which sometimes makes stacking them a little difficult.

This is a nice set.1000 chips is more than enough to have a nice game of poker.It might even be a liitle over kill.But thats ok.The chips have a nice feel to them and the las vagas insert is nice.The set comes with two decks of pokers cards and a set of dice.The case is big and with the set inside this is not a lite unit.This thing is heavy.So heavy I'm worried the handle might not take the weight. OT does though.In the end.For the price this set is worth it.

1,000 Ct Ultimate 14 Gram Clay Laser Poker Chip Set w/ Aluminum Case & Free WPT Book Review

I finally decided to invest in a set of chips that I could be proud of and use for many, many years to come. This was the set I decided on, thinking they were a high quality, 14 gram clay chip.

The chips definately are not full clay, but more of a heavy plastic or acrylic. I wouldn't go as far as to say they are 'cheap' but they aren't the fantastic quality I was expecting. That said, they are nice as a starter set, or even as a hobbyist set, but it is not the lifelong addict's set I was planning on. I am happy with them for the time being (maybe 3-5 solid years) but will look into replacing this set at some point in the near future.

If I had a chance to look at and feel the chip before buying them, such as in a store, I would verify that the price is about what they are worth, but the $70 I paid for shipping makes me feel like I overpaid for them (but I do live in Alaska, shipping is probably cheaper for lower 48). I got them on the fifth business day after ordering them, and was pleasantly pleased by that. However, some of the chips were already opened when I got them, and had essentially a pile of random colored chips on the bottom of the box. The carrying case arrived in good condition, (with a lock and key) and I haven't had any issues with it as of yet. The dice and cards are fairly low quality, but that really didn't bother me.

Overall, I'm not unhappy with the purchase. I'm not blown away by the quality of the chip, but I'm not angry and don't feel cheated. It is a nice chip set that could comfortably host 20-30 person tournaments, depending on how you set denominations. Also, if you use the green $25 chips as quarters, the green/white/red chips would make for a great way to play .25/.50 or .50/1 no limit cash games with a group of 5-10 players.
