The Philipino martial, known as Escrima utilizes this sticks, usually made of soft wood called rattan, for combative purposes. I recently purchased a a set these fighting sticks, called doce Pares, which in Spanish, means 12 pairs. Though, never formally trained, just practicing with them has demonstrated to the awesome power, these weapons possess.
