First things first, when you receive your XVest, the weights come packaged.You unbox the weights, and remove the individual plastic wrapper from each.The weights are 1lb cylinders that are rounded on the end.Each has a small collar that it slides into inside of a larger pouch on the vest.The weights are well distributed among 4 large pouches; one each across the chest, abdomen, upper and lower back.You can add as many weights as you like, up to the full 84 lbs, and the mounting system does a very good job at holding them snugly.Even with all of the weights inserted the vest is surprisingly easy to handle, aside from being quite heavy of course.Getting all of the weights inserted took about 30 minutes.The general construction and finish of the vest is very high quality.The nylon is extremely tough and reminded me of the construction of body armor that I've worn.Seams are all double-stitched and a heavy thread is used.The Velcro closures (everything save for two quick-release clips on the shoulders that act as a secondary retainer to the Velcro shoulder adjustment) are of the industrial variety to say the least.In short, the thing's built like a tank.Putting the thing on while loaded with 84 pounds takes some practice.It'd be pretty easy to knock yourself out cold me thinks.Once you get it over your shoulders it's just a matter of leveling it out and pulling the giant elastic waist straps from the back to the front where they attach using enormous Velcro pads.The thing fits like a glove but still allows for easy deep breathing.Quite a feat.I had to take the thing on and off a few times to get the shoulders adjusted for a proper fit which eventually meant laying on the floor and sort of crawling into the thing because my arms got tired and my head got sore.Overall, adjustment was a breeze.After getting the thing adjusted and putting it on, I immediately noticed how much more stable my overall mobility was in comparison to having the same amount of weight in my backpack.Walking around, bending over, picking things up, just normal motion were all much more balanced and less awkward.Having the weight distributed around your body and closer to your center of gravity makes a HUGE difference.While it certainly adds to stability, balance and control, I would soon find that there is a price to be paid.I headed out the door and hit the pavement running.I set out to do a single lap on my normal run; from my house to the trail, once around, back to my house.The trail is gravel and dirt and almost entirely small hills, some steep, some gradual.It's a great run and a perfect place to test out my new gear.From my front door to the trail head is about a third of a mile.About half-way through that third of a mile I was made painfully aware that I was no longer carrying all of the weight on my back and that now I had 42 lbs trying to pull my torso forward.Oddly enough, the muscles in my back, those that hold you upright vs. bending over forward, had not been worked in, ooooohhhh...ever.I learned VERY quickly to run with near perfect posture, keeping the weigh over my hips and my spine straight (the price as mentioned earlier).I would have to adjust my posture frequently over the nest few miles, but I found that if I ran with proper posture, the pain was tolerable.I did have to walk for a few short spots just to give my back muscles a break, a stretch, etc. but at the end they simply felt like they'd been worked hard.Today (the day after) they're fine, if a bit sore from being asked to put out.In addition to the aforementioned, I found that if you run with a hunched posture, the vest bounces.84lbs bouncing while you run makes for very difficult progress (and very sore shoulders).Again, proper posture fixed this problem.At the end of my run I felt like I'd really put out.My legs had gotten a good workout (though not quite as much as with my heavier backpack).My torso felt like it had just run a gauntlet.My shoulders were dead (not in a bad way).Overall and OUTSTANDING workout.My only complaint is that the shoulder padding is lacking.84lbs is a lot of weight to have suspended by your shoulders.They should have spent some more money in production cost and put a load-bearing waist-belt on the thing such as you find on a good backpack.Given the lack of one and the poor shoulder padding I give the XVest 4 stars.Add the two and I'd not hesitate giving it 5.

11.5 Gram Clay Composite Gambling Poker Chip Chipset with Case (650 Casino Suite). Review

This is my first review at Amazon.com, but I do take my time on my reviews so other consumers can have an idea of what they are buying.

We all understand it is somewhat difficult to shop online because you dont have an idea of how good the quality of the product it is with just pictures as your guide, unless you know the brand.Even the, it is still "iffy".I rated this product 4 stars as "good", but not "great" or "excellent" as those found in 5 stars.And to be fair, I've taken some time with the chips of 2 days to let some of the exitement out of my system to give it a proper review.Please also know that this is my first Poker set, but I've been to casinos several times in my life.

Lets start with the shipping and packaging.I purchased this product on March 5th and my recieve date was 11th - 15th.I recieved this product on the 9th, 2 days faster than the ETA.The packaging was decent in quality with styrofoam molds to keep it secure and keep it from damage (who knows how they handle packages at UPS or FedEx).Shipping price was a little steep in my opinion, but it is heavy, so I can'nt gripe much there.

The case.Well, if you do your research before you buy the product, you will see that most of peoples negativity is almost always towards the case.And in this case, it does not disappoint; what you've read was true.The case itself is not full aluminum, and majorly plastic.the only metal about it are the slim frames to make up the case, and thin and slim brackets to hold them together.The walls of the case all around is plastic.It might look like aluminum in picture with its gray color, but it is not.With its heavy weight of contents inside, I feel very inconfident of how long the handle will last, let alone the case.I asked my gf to bring me the case one time and to her reply while bringing me the case was "man, it feels like its about to break!".The foam inside from the lid of the case has also fallen off.I'm gonna buy some glue later on today to keep it from falling off again.

The accessories.Dice, poker dice, buttons, and a complimentary chip keychain are all nice, and in great condition.The dealer button is nice and large, while the other button such as small and big blind button are smaller in size.

The deck of cards.It comes with 4 deck of cards which is nice in my opinion, but the quality is the poorest you can find.I would have rather have two or maybe even just one good deck of card instead of these cardboard decks.They are easy to bend, and in jsut a few shuffles, it feels like they've been used hundreds of times.I went and bought two of bicycle pros to replace these decks.I still keep them in hand just in case I have careless friends over.

And the meat of it all, the POKER CHIPS!Well, where to start?These are nice chips and I love them, but dont get me wrong there are a couple details that makes you think otherwise at time.Let me start with a major one which are the stickers on a few of them.They are very unaligned.Some sticker are so off that it even hits the edge of the chip.It doesn't stack well if the stickers are off, so I got a knife and peeled it carefully and place it back in the center where it needs to be.Thankfully, the stickers are plastic or laminated paper, so it didnt tear in the process.
Another detail that might bother you is the rough edges on some of the chips.I believe the rough edges are from the press or mold in the production of the chips.Some are easily removed by your fingernail, but some are kind of difficult.I got a knife to scrape and polish some of the "burrs" off the chips.It was easy to do, but time consuming.

Other than those couple of detail, the great part about the chips is the fact that they are clay, and they do stack well.I've managed to stack over 130 chips in one stack.But I have to admit, it was rather wobbley at that height.Nonetheless, you will have no problem staking it over 50 chips high.It has a nice feel and weight to them, and the chips really look nice.The great part about it is the denomination of them although I would've prefered to have a $50 denonimation also.

I know that most of this review is somewhat negative, but why did I give this product a 4 star, you might ask?Well, it is the quantity and quality of what you paid for.Yes, this is not the best out there, but it is the best you can get for the price.$40.00 for a nice poker set for home use is unbeatable, and this will last you quite sometime if you take care of it.As for the case, I dont know so much.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with my purchase, and I'm loving it so far!

Body Solid GPM65 Plate Loaded Pec Machine Review

Easy assembly, I guess they assumed some nicks would occur as two vials of paint were included.Main bearings are in two pieces, one on top and one on bottom.I do not see this as a major drawback for home use.I also don't have any problem with the standard plate mount vs. the olympic sleeves.They use floor protectors which seem good though some shimming may be requried if your floor is not completely level, no leveling provision is provided.The range of motion available seems very good and the seat mount is also highly adjustable although I bumped my head at the highest position.It is very smooth in use though I did grease the bearings during assembly.I am used to seeing some suggested exercises though I know the obvious exercises are well, obvious.Overall, I am happy with it, the machine is smooth, the build quality is good though not commercial quality and in everyday home use it should last many years.Bang for the buck is a good 8 or 9 out of 10.

Rattan Tiger Pattern Review

I ordered this staff to use in Filipino Martial Arts practice.I initially ordered a 60 inch staff but received a 72 inch staff.I decided to keep it as it was still suitable for what I needed.The staff itself is somewhat flimsy considering how thick it is in diameter.It appears to be skinless rattan that has a lot of flex.I will use it primarily to practice angles of defense/attack and staff handling skills but I will not use it for contact practice/sparring due to the flex.

Streamlight 74300 Strion LED Flashlight without Charger, Black Review

This one replaces my first strion with the xenon bulb.New is the roll proof designed head, tail cap push button switch vs twist or press and hold to turn on, 5.3 inch for the xenon and 5.9 led, and of course led bulb.

The good, this thing has a very bright white light with no hint of that nasty blue.The anti roll design should save some blood pressure frustration points.

The bad, it's slightly bigger than the xenon, .6 inch per their website.The switch is rubber covered which may later break down after contact with oily substances.

The ugly, it's beam is not adjustable.

Even tho it's a little longer, you're still getting a lot of light out of a small deal.

The rubber switch cover, I can't say how good it'll hold up.

My xenon started giving me problems after being dropped multiple times.Since the switch had a push for momentary on feature, the battery contacts developed little dents which would cause it to not turn on.I'd have to take the battery out, twist 90 deg, reassemble and try again.The led model has this hi med lo strobe feature in the switch.Seems a bit fancy, and more stuff which could break.I don't know what purpose the strobe provides, unless you know someone with epilepsy you want to see in seizure, ya kno, just for kicks.

Chances are good I wouldn't have bought it had I known it has a non adjustable beam.I tried to find a brick and mortar that had one on the shelf so I could put my hands on it first, but failed to find one.Time will tell...

Suunto PM-5 Clinometer Review

I bought this inclinometer because I needed an optical device I could fit in my tool pouch to measure heights in a refinery. This type of environment requires equipment be intrinsically-safe, i.e., unable to provide enough current to cause a fire. This pretty much rules out GPS, etc. Besides, as I explained to a friend once, GPS tells you where you are not how high something is in front of you.

From my field tests I've found this instrument to be accurate to within +/- 1-ft. This is not as good as you would get with a theodolite (transit), which involves a tripod. A single measurement this way would be highly accurate, perhaps to an inch or so but would take a half-hour or so to set up, if you knew what you were doing. If you can live with the accuracy the PM-5 is great for fast measurements.

The Clinometer works best on days when it is partially cloudy. Frequent use, say more than an hour, in bright sunshine, may cause modest headache and eyestrain.

Here's how it work:
1.Measure the horizontal distance first (D). Keep the tape straight.
2.Measure the height of the instrument as you hold it (Ho).
3.Hold the instrument by the brass handle and find the black eyepiece.
4.Choose the best eye that sees close up.
5.Close the other eye.
6.Look for the horizontal hairline.
7.To the right, is % slope (or height in ft at 100-ft); to the left is degrees.
8.Zero with the horizon.
9.Move the instrument to the desired elevation.
10.Open the second eye using it to see the object for which you want the elevation.
11.An optical illusion will bring the hairline in focus in front of the second eye.
12.Adjust the instrument elevation and read the measurement.
13.The best accuracy is with the degrees.
14.Do the math: H = Ho + DTan(angle).

Streamlight 69120 TLR-2 C4 LED with Laser Sight Rail Mounted Weapon Flashlight, Black Review

The price tag is high, but when the item is an important add-on to your primary sidearm, it's an easy choice.

I bought mine USED for quite a bit less than listed, because it only came with the GLOCK key for it. Of course I was buying it for a GLOCK 21, so no problem there. I'll go over the pros and cons as I see them, as objectively as I can. Cons first, because I think the negatives always weigh my decisions more than the positives.

Cons--Price. $200+ for an add-on with electronics and moving parts, hence more chances for failure(none so far, but it's a possibility). If you don't have a bearing holster, your old one won't be functional with this on the rail. Not waterproof, like the TLR-1(and a little bulkier of course). Attachment bolt needs regular cleaning/oiling as it is not aluminum/carbon but steel. Battery door will feel like a puzzle until you pull a quarter out of your pocket. Collects dust on the lens guard/laser like an old library(suprise...guns release hot powder residue bursts at barrel exit and breech). Which is probably what happened to K. Jordan. You have to clean after every use, you don't want that stuff building up. If you want to adjust the laser, you'll need a nearly microscopic .050" hex key, but that should come with a new one. That's the most I can come up with.

Pros--Reliable. That's about all I should need to say to justify it's value, but I've yet to have a problem. Eight boxes of ammo so far (that's four-hundred rounds of .45ACP worth) with it attached. I stagger on and off so the slight weight/feel difference doesn't change my aim, so the ease of attaching/detaching is welcomed. Though quick, it's not just snap on, I wouldn't trust that--there's a bolt that secures it for a tight grip, and it's pretty heavy duty...maybe overly so. Takes me under ten seconds. Pretty decent run time, I'd say about 2 and a half hours nonstop with the LED only. Not a big fan of lasers in general on sidearms, as they can quickly become a crutch, but the extra confidence of one zeroed at 20 yards when you need it alleviates that concern. Once again, after zeroing it at your optimal distance(mine was, possibly from the previous owner, zeroed at 20 yards when I first was going to check for adjustments) the laser is amazingly accurate. I definitely alternate to not become dependent, but the tight patterns I was hitting were better than I expected. Overall pretty light, about a third of a pound for 80 lumens is a nice ratio. Feels very sturdy in construction, 45ACP kicks like a mule compared to 9mm, and no shock damage. Love the paddle/switch design for momentary and steady. Clockwise (down for righties) to lock steady, counter for momentary, neutral for off. Trigger finger naturally rests right on it when in safety position. The switch is below paddle for laser/light/light & laser from left to right. I use my steady hand on that, but it'd be easy enough to reach it with your main hand.

This is starting to get long winded, but I think for a primary sidearm, if you're willing to shell out the cash, it's well worth it. Look for them used first if you can. So far, couldn't be happier with mine.

I have used the Fox 40 whistle for the last three years upon a recommendation from a friend. I have been very satisfied with the clarity and pitch this whistle provides. You have to blow a bit harder than a pea style whistle, however once you get used to the difference it works excellent. I bought these in three levels (3, 4, and 5). The 3 is a good starting point, but as I have been using weight machines, I like the 4. I bought a set of handles and it a nice sturdy product. The best part, no latex smell, and no allergic reactions for me. It was easy to set up with handles, and functions as well as the tubes with handles at my gym. I will up date if they wear out fast, but they feel like they will last.

Easton 2009 LV1 V12 Youth Baseball Bat Review

It's a good bat.I bought a 32in/20oz for my 11 year old.It was a little big for him but it will be perfect next year.These are a bit expensive for little league but there definitely is a noticeable difference between this bat and the less expensive ones.You feel it when you hit a ball.

If I had to do it again, I'd probably go with the cheaper bat and only invest in the better bats when they get towards high school age.That's not a knock on the bat, it performed well, just not sure it's worth it when the kids are rarely hitting the ball out of the infield.

-At 167 lumens, this light is extremely bright, and thanks to the unique reflector technology, it seems even brighter.

- The head has "Speed Focus," which means that you can slide the head forward or backward. This changes the light from spotlight (narrow, extremely bright beam with little peripheral light) to Floodlight (large lightspill, but beam does not travel far). This allows you to use this light in any situation.

-When in spotlight mode, it has a very far "throw."

- It can operate at both low and high mode, allowing you to preserve battery life when not much illumination is needed.

-Runs on inexpensive AAA batteries (3 batteries). The cartridge into which you insert the batteries is connected to the tailcap, thus you will never lose it.

Overall the experience was good. The Ab/Back Machine arrived within the shipping date window. Shipping was free, that was nice & Amazon's price was better then direct purchase from the company.Set up procedure could be challenging for some as a parts list and exploded view of how the parts were assembled was all that was provided. I'm mechanically inclined & did not have any problems & machine was set up in about 3 hours. I would have liked an operator's manual as I'm sure there are features that I have yet to master. Both myself and my 16 yr old son like the machine and use it serveal times a week. I also have a Body Solid leg press machine which I have owned for 15 years. Both the ab and the leg machine are good values.

For a mountain bike, you'll want three to five inches of clearance. A road bike should offer between one and two inches of clearance, while a commuter bike should have two to four inches. Compare the stand-over height for a given bike to your measurements (inseam + clearance) to determine the right bike height.
Top Tube Length--You can measure your torso to get a good estimate of proper top tube length. First, make a fist and extend your arm. Measure from the center of your fist to the end of your collarbone (the part that intersects your shoulder). Next, measure your torso by placing a book against your crotch with the spine facing up. Measure from the spine to the bottom of your throat (the spot between your collarbones). Finally, add the two measurements (arm length + torso length), divide the number in half and subtract six inches. This is your approximate top tube length. Compare this number to a bike's posted top tube length. You can allow for about two inches longer or shorter, as most bikes can be adjusted via stem length/height and saddle fore/aft position to make fine adjustments to the fit.
Bikes for Women--Proportionally, women tend to have a shorter torso and longer legs than men. Bike makers design women's bikes that offer a shorter top tube and many comfort/cruiser bikes built for women may also provide more stand-over clearance.

Wilson A2000 XL-B 12.5 Inch Baseball Glove Review

This is probably the best professional quality glove offered today when you think about cost-benefit.
Although it's a Pitcher glove it can be used in every single position in the field other than Catcher and 1st Base. It is an overall balanced glove with a great design. The leather takes sometime to break in but after it does you will never want a different glove.
Those who watch regularly MLB games will notice that some pitchers who were supposed to be playing with a newer model came back to the old and good A2000 XL-B.
I just bought my second one last week and will use it until both of them wear out completely.
